Mineral Springs, its is from moutain troll tusks, I think. Or you can just get one from someone in Lions Arch for about 2k + 2k for Posion String + 2k for Defence Bow Grip. = 6k for a near perfect bow. I suppose Vamp or Sundering String would be better but that would raise the price around 60k-100k. Also dont go for a fortitude bow grip it will just cost more and still be less efective than the defence grip.

15~28 (acts like shortbow)
+15% when health above 50%
armor penetration +10% (5%)
Health +27

any guesstimates on this?

Well, the health grip on it is nice, too bad there is no way to salvage it out. I've seen better sundering strings.

There are collector bows with speed modifiers not seen on any other bows. The sad part is those collector bows are all way below max damage. I wish higher marksmanship would increase bow fire rate, but that's another topic.

There's actually another, easier to get Ascalon Bow that acts as a short bow and has +15% damage when health is over 50% in the Desert, due south of Destiny's Gorge. A collector named Mourn Drakespear takes 5 hydra claws for it.
The Mineral Springs can be a bit of a haul to walk to.

Also, the only collector's bow I recall with a speed modifier had -66% attack speed. Ouch.

A max damage version of the Longbow you can craft at Denravi (Which adds +10 armor) would also be nice.

That Armor Penetration is useless, IMHO. A 1 in 20 chance of a 10% AP is not worth it at all. I'd change that so something more useful. A zealous string if you spam fast shots, or even a fiery string if you want to use it in conjunction with Kindle/Ignite Arrows. Or if you want constant damage, a perfect 5:1 or 4:1 bowstring would help too.

I personally use
Fiery Ascalon Bow (Ascalon Bow bought of Drakespur near Skyward Reach)
15-28 Fire Damage
+15% > 50% (though, I'm starting to debate how good this is...I'd rather have 15% in stance right now)

Lowbow of Fortitude
14-27
+15% > 50%
+21 health

Prolly gonna try to get a Defense Grip for the short bow next. The longbow's only used for pulling, so I don't mind what the stats are on that one, really.

Vampiric Half Moon of Fortitude

15-28(req 8)

+15%Dmg(always no penelties)

+5life steal

-1life regeneration

+30health

There is +%Dmg with no penelty weapons they only appeared in the first week of when guild wars came out i wish i would've farmed drakes all day =(

At Henge of Denravi or somewhere out side it because all i could find was a crappy +15% while enchanted that wasn't even max?

Sundering Storm Bow of Fortitude
15-28
+12% while enchanted (I'm R/Me, keep a perma enchantment up, Illusionary Weakness)
10% armor penetration (9% chance)
+20 Health

Sure, the mods could be better but I haven't picked one up yet. +10 health really isn't worth 90k to me, for a +30 fortitude mod I mean. Anyway. I like this bow. Short distance bad ? Errm, when I'm up close and personal, there is no firing arc, it just shoots the mob in front of me at the same speed a shortbow would. The only noticeable difference is the reload time. .2 seconds isn't a whole lot (it might actually be .5 but big deal). Tigers Fury works the same if you are at close range with this bow just as it would a shortbow. The only big difference I've found between using my halfmoon and stormbow is that I like being able to pull from an inch out of my agro bubble and not having to worry about switching weapons. Who cares, really. Go with what you feel comfortable with. I've used em all, have been enjoying the longbow style of the stormbow.

Icey Stormbow of Marksmanship +15% dmg in stance.

I found mine so it's free, cool looking, and I love its range. No 15% dmg modifier though, I'm not that lucky. I would definitely prefer a bow for range then for point blank fighting no matter what anyone says.

I'm warrior type. I'd easily whip out a sword+shield with Apply Poison for close fights if needed. Someone got Fragility? ^_^

It's a golden one with perfect stats. It's a longbow with the longest range and the fastest firerate. The arc isn't the fastest though =/
Still pure ownage =)
